What does Success mean to you? Part 6
Now that we spent some time on the basics of what success is, let’s spend some time on how to accomplish it. After all, that is why we are here.
We know time is limited to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We also know that we need some form of income stream.
Let me take a moment with a couple of questions first.
So what is the best way to earn an income? Get a Job.
What is the best way to become financially successful? Get multiple streams of income.
First I need to point out to the weak of heart and those who are not sure of this, but being successful does not mean you will not work hard.
You will likely work harder for yourself, if you want to be successful, then you will ever work for anyone else. There really is no such true thing as “get rich lazy”. If you want that path, play the lottery.
As we learned before, you can spread the work around,
The true benefit is the reward. The greater the risk, the greater the reward. It is a wonderful feeling when you become a success for yourself.
So if getting a job is not the best way, what are the best streams of income to look into in order to give you the highest chances? I will list some of the most popular ones below. Take a minute to think up of some to add to the list below.
These are in no specific order;
Real Estate
Internet Marketing
Publishing
Affiliate programs
Software development
Selling on EBay
Starting your Own Company
I bolded the last option because it is actually the most important. The entire reason is that even the previous items can be created as your own business. If you have a marketable skill, and it is likely that you do because you are likely working for someone already. You have skills, hobbies, like and dislikes. Any of these when done properly can become your own business.
Take a look at some of the stuff on EBay for example. You can find people selling just about anything under the sun. From coins, comic books, to hand built model airplanes. Many EBay sellers and pretty much any power seller are likely to be operating a business.
Many items are available from simply going to tags sales and flea markets, to buying direct from wholesale distributors. All you need to do is learn how to get started,
Make a list of your hobbies. Then ask yourself the following questions:
Can I make money doing this hobby?
Do I spend a lot of money doing this hobby?
Would other people spend a lot of money to do this hobby?
Can I market something specific related to this hobby?
For example, I like to build model trains. There are millions of other people who also like to build model train layouts. New products are being released every day for this market. So why not start a business that does something with model trains. Perhaps you could build custom layouts for other people, offer instructional classes, or find a wholesaler and sell model trains yourself. The possibilities are endless.
Starting your own business is not really that hard. It may take some time to choose the right one for you, but it can be well worth it. Next we will look at some ways to run your new business.
To your future success.
